My question is how can I use xmodem to copy my current IOS from my 2600 router to my PC so that I can have a copy of my IOS in case anything happens. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You cannot copy from router to PC using xmodem.
Use TFTP or FTP instead.
