Network Freeze due to Cisco FWSM & ACE

Can the FWSM or ACE cause users to get disconnected periodically?

We have a server farm that is behind 2 x Cisco 6509-E which have the FWSM and ACE modules.

The Dev team complains that once in a while they experience a network freeze while working and they susspect the modules. Can this be the case?

Is it really during work or perhaps after lunch break? We had similar complaints but only with certain applications. People expierienced freezes on DB applications or Citrix (older Clients) usually after they'd been for a coffee or for lunch.

The standard TCP timeout in the FWSM is 60 minutes - and some applications seem not to make use of keepalives. Perhaps it would help to increase the timeout value.
