QoS on a Cat4506 running CatOS

I'm struggling to find any QoS guides that would contain any information for a 4506 runnign CatOs, all the config guides only seem to be tailored for IOS.

Does anyone have any experience/documentation for configuring QoS on a 4506 running CatOS?

I'm only after some basic QoS setup for voice, trust cos 3 and 5, etc

thanks

elena

Use the QOS CatOS config guides for the 6500s, they're nearly identical.

Hope that helps

Thanks i'll give it a go

Hi,

This link can provide you with the answeres.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps663/products_qanda_item09186a0080094869.shtml

Hope this helps.

Regrds,

thanks for the reply, i've seen that doc already, unfortunately, all the config links seem to lead to IOS configuration guide :-(

The configuration guides for Catalyst 4x00 CatOS are now in the 'end of life/end of sale' documentation pile...

Here is the latest Cat 4000 software 8.3 & 8.4 guides for QoS.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4000/8.3and8.4glx/configuration/guide/qos.html

There isn't much.... All interfaces are 2q1t and all you can do is Map CoS values to queues, so only Layer-2 802.1p CoS is supported (no Layer-3 DSCP/IP Precedence support). You can set a default CoS value (i.e. rewrite or add an 802.p priority to all incoming frames) and there is no support for ingress or egress polcies (like there is with the Sup2+ and IOS on the 4500).
