Is there a way to get intercom like functionaliy without having two use to DNs per phone? Seems like having two DNs and two buttons is wasteful and if I recall most tradition PBX/key systems can do this using just the primary extension.

Thanks,

Diego

Hi Diego,

The use of two seperate lines is due to the "Auto Answer" function associated with Intercom. You wouldn't be able to configure a single DN to Auto Answer for an Intercom call but not Auto Answer a non-Intercom call. It is actually recommended to include an Alpha character in Intercom DN's so that they cannot be accidentally dialed. Have a look at the suggetions in this good CME doc;

Hope this helps!

Rob

Thank you sir. The link looks to be very helpful.
