How to learn TCL scripting indepth

Unanswered Question

I want to learn more about tcl scripting. Does anyone know of any good books or websites, preferably ones that have to deal with the scripting toward cisco routers?

I have this problem too.

O'Reilly has a pretty good book on Tcl/tk, and on "expect" (which is scripting language based on Tcl)

Cisco doesn't use expect, but it is available for free for Windows or *nix (and quite useful once you get the hang of it)

Prentice-Hall also has a pretty good book "Practical Programming in Tcl and Tk" by Welch/Jones/Hobbs. Good examples and a CD with code is included.

It doesn't talk about Cisco either.

Here's Cisco's tutorial on it:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3t/12_3t2/feature/guide/gt_tcl.html

Using the Search feature on the main site brought up a couple screens full of Tcl-related documentation.

Good Luck
