Quick question. Have to add a subnet but am out of open fast ethernet ports on ouor router. I have an existing connection between 2 of our routers. If I add a secondary IP address on each side of this connection will I be able to route through the secodnary IP's.

Will arp get cached for this new subnet on the routers? Thanks

Hi,

Yes the connection should be able to route using the secondary ip address.

Not so sure about the arp but u guess the devices with secondary ip address will get cashed with the ip address range in secondary.

Hope this helps

Regards,

Pravin
