RSM? You want to restrict the logging buffer size on a device? You can do that using the logging buffer command:

logging buffer 4096

This limits the buffer to 4KB.

I know this limition is for network device, I could setup it on each device. But as a log server, I think LMS could keep more logs, right? for example, if I define 4k buffer on switch, Could I see the log of over 4k on LMS?

LMS will retain as many messages as you send. There is no log rotation enabled for the syslog log by default. If you want to configure log rotation, use the built-in logrot.pl utility. This utility is documented in the LMS online help. Search for logrot.

By deafult, You mean LMS will keep same size with device, right? If the switch buffer is 4K, I only see 4k log file, right?

thanks again!

By default, there is NO rotation of the syslog log file in LMS. If you want to keep the syslog log file at a certain size, you will need to configure logrot.pl. This log file will hold syslog messages from ALL devices, so you really shouldn't keep it the same size of any one device.
