Hi Pros,
Is it possible to run dot-1 q tunneling over already dot-1 q frames? I just would like to test the possibility of this as my requirement needs it.
Any references will be appreciated.
thanks in advance..
cheers

Hello,
do you mean you want to have a stack of three 802.1Q headers in your frames ?
a double stack 802.1Q is already possible and explains the name QinQ.
best regards
Giuseppe

Hi Guiseppe,
Yes i need to have three stack of 802.1Q headers in my frames, as our metro spans across other Provider and we want to provide redundancy by running STP across it...
Is it possible to have this kind of setup.
thanks in advcance

Hello,
a possible different method going through an mpls service provider network is given in the following link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_0s/feature/guide/qinq.html#wp1027385
here the double 802.1Q tagged frames are carried inside EoMPLS pipes in MPLS frames.
hope to help
Giuseppe
