MTRJ optic port on a cat2940 trouble

Hello !

I have a Catalyst 2940-8TF switch with MTRJ optical port and I cannot get the optical link up. It wouldn't establish a link with

multi-mode optical bridge converter, and it also wouldn't go up if i connect its own tx to its own rx. I have tried different optic

patch cables, changing port speed and duplex, changing IOS software - nothing helps.

Is there any other way to solve this?

If you can find MTRJ-SC and SC-LC cables, then you can use a SC-SC coupler to connect them.

Did you try to give power manually on port?

Command: enable power

Hi,

1. Your multi-mode optical bridge converter is 100 or 1000 Mbps ? mtrj is 100 Mbps only

2. SFP slot is empty? mtrj working only if it is.
