We currently have a Verizon DSL connection running through a Westell DSL modem. We have a new 2800 series router with an ADSL wic installed. How ever I can not get the DSL link to come up. During the debug atm events it errors out with 0x10 and I receive a protocol error. Trying to troubleshoot with verizon has been a nightmare. They have stated that all we need to is assign our statric ip address to the card and that is it. They claim no authentication is going on at all and that it is based completely on ip address. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi, when the link doesn't come up first (check "show dls interface") it is not a configuration issue.
You can try either upgrading IOS, or using the HWIC instead. The WIC card is an older type and compatibility issues are not fixed anymore.

Upgrade DSL FW:
ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/access/800
the one you want is 3-0-33 and there is a docfile for installation.
