Read Informix DB via AXL and send info to MS Access

Hi guys,

We got a case in TAC in which customer used to have an application that pulled the information from CCM 4.X (SQL 2000) to a MS Access DB but now he is trying to find an option to connect to a CCM 5.x,6.x to pull Phones and users info to re-populate the MS Access DB.

Im opening this thread so he can follow up with you experts on this matter since for this type of DB integration. CCM Dev Support is required.

Our recommendation is AXL, but if we can provide him something more specific apart from AXL programming guides ( Companies|Partners that perform this, URLs, tools, Projects, etc) he can start checking that will be awesome.

I have this problem too.

I assume they did NOT pull user information, as it was stored in DCD.

What fields do they require to be populated? And what are they using it for?

It's better to get the business requirements instead of trying a like-for-like as they might only use 5% of the data from the DB

Your assumption is absolutely correct.

For this specific project we just need Names and Phone Numbers.

ah, AXL SOAP is the best way, you might be best off using executeSQLQuery.

Do you have shared lines, and/or 2nd lines on the phones?

Thank you for the reply.

We will definitely need to look into the "multiple lines associated with a single user" issue.

We will try SAOPUI.ORG product, and I will post results here.

Thank you.
