Hi Experts,

I have a 3750 distribution switch connecting to core switch 4506 through fibre link.

Question is...should i set speed 1000/duplex full or leave it AUTO/AUTO?

Any impact on the network slowness regardless of the setting ?

Thanks,

cindy

hi!

Leaving it on AUTO/AUTO will be fine as it would autonegotiate to the max supported speed duplex settings on both the devices. you can try setting the speed only if you are facing problem of the links being negiotiated to less than the max speed.

I dont think it would affect the network speed as long as the link is autonegotiated to correct 1000/full.

As mentioned previously if u set the autoneg feature it showuld match first speed, then duplex to the other connected device, however there are times when this causes problems.

If you experience any errors on the line like crc errors or layer 2 timing problems, then I would match settings to the other device.HTH
