The part numbers that you want to check on are:
2 of WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 (which does have the integrated CSU/DSU)
and maybe VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1
CCO is http://www.cisco.com

There are a couple of ways that you can go at the question of how to tell if the router has a built in CSU/DSU. Perhaps the easiest is to look at the connector on the serial card. If the connector is an RJ45 (like Ethernet) then the card has built in CSU/DSU. If the connector is the smart serial connector or the 60 pin connector then it uses an external CSU/DSU.
Or you could do the command show diag. This will identify the type of card in the router. Then you could look on CCO for information about that card and whether it has built in CSU/DSU or not.

You are interested in the FRU part number eg.
in slot 1
FRU Part Number PA-4E=
in slot 2
FRU Part Number PA-8B-S/T=
etc..
Attached is a link to a pdf on 7200 cards which yOu may find useful.

Hi rick,
Can we user sh ver command to check if router has
built in CSUor not?
06-22-2008 05:42 PM
Hi,
I have also so many CSU and DSU's in my network. Actually i have to remove all the CSU & DSU's is there any other product or any other router is available so i can terminate my all link on that box and remove all the CSU & DSU's.
Thanks in Advace,
Jerry

Jerry
If I am understanding correctly you have multiple routers in your network and there are many external CSU/DSUs in your network. And you want to replace the external CSU/DSUs with internal CSU/DSUs. There are certainly many routers that will support serial cards with internal CSU/DSUs.
Without knowing more about the layout of your network and knowing what routers you currently deploy we can not tell how many of those routers might support internal CSU/DSU if you replace the serial card and how many routers you would need to replace to get routers that would support internal CSU/DSU.

From your show version, here are your interfaces:
2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
4 Serial interfaces
2 Serial(sync/async) interfaces
2 Channelized E1/PRI ports
This does not provide any insight about whether the CSU/DSU is internal or external.
I started to go through the output of show diag and comment on the card types:
WIC Slot 0:
FRU Part Number WIC-2T=
WIC Slot 1:
FRU Part Number VWIC-2MFT-E1=
and then I realized that in response to my post you posted the output of show diag from one router and in response to a post from Jon that you posted output from show diag on a different router. That makes explaining things more difficult.
If you take the card identifies (VWIC-2MFT-E1=) you should be able to find references on CCO that will tell whether it has internal CSU/DSU or external.

Mahesh
The part numbers that you want to check on are:
2 of WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 (which does have the integrated CSU/DSU)
and maybe VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1
CCO is http://www.cisco.com
