We have a system running CME express 4.1.
In that system, most of our users have cisco SCCP working phones, however there is a bunch of users that wanted to get rid of the hardphones and use a softphone instead.
We have enabled the SIP voice register command, and they can sucessfully use a SIP softphone.
In the system, all the extensions have numbers between 100 and 199, the problem we have know is that one of the users with the SIP softphone would like to have extension 1001.
We made some tests and we can register and make calls with a sofphone configured as extension 1001, the problem appears while receiving incoming calls (within the system). If a SCCP user tries to call number 1001, the call is sent to number 100 instead.
We assume this has something to do with the configuration beacuse if we use number 6001 for the SIP extension, everything works fine and everyone can call that extension without problem. Also, if the number 1001 is configured on a SCCP phone, the SCCP phones can call that extension without problems.
Any idea what may be the problem?

Hi, you should explain to you customer that 100 and 1001 are perfectly overlapping numbers, so either change one, or the other (not to mention the absurdity of unequal length, a great way to look for trouble). Try making an example with PSTN numbers where obviously number never overlap.
You may also want to give IPCP instead of a SIP softphone, because it works much better.
Look at the fact that certain overlaps can be handled withing certain configurations as an indication that it cannot be done rather than it can be done "sometime".
