If I replace a device with a different type but keep the name and IP address the same, will LMS and associated apps learn about this automatically? Or will I have to manually delete the old one? I have noticed a Cat4006 was replaced with a Cat4506 and Device Center still shows it as a Cat4006. Should this update automatically? Is there anyway to identify devices like this in the DCR?
In normal siutations, such devices will be identified by RME as either Conflicting or Aliased, and you will have an option to "Update DCR" with the new sysObjectID learned by RME, or pick which of the aliased devices to keep.
