Connecting a Netgear FSM726 to a Cisco Switch

Hi All

I am in the process of connecting a Netgear FSM726 to a Cisco Switch. When I do this, with auto/auto on the Switch end, it keeps coming up as err-disabled.

I have done the following:

1. Removed spantree portfast.

2. Change the port to 100/Full

3. Moved the ports on the Netgear and Cisco Switch around

But it still err-disables the port.

Please help.

Thanks

What kind of cable are you using?

Also, have you tried hard-coding both switches to 100/full?

I am not able to connect into the Netgear switch only the Cisco Switch. I am using a straight through cable. O gosh, I am suppose to use a Cross over, not so?. It says aut ouplink and I thought it was auto ( mdi/mdix).

Try a crossover cable, see how that works out.

I have just used a Cross over cable and it is stil err-disable the port.

Thanks
