Outbound issue with BRI

Hi,

We're having an issue with a new setup. The router is a 2811 and has 4 BRI interfaces. The telco is Swisscom from Switzerland. The four lines are configured as a group on the telco side.

Inbound calls are working, but when trying to call out, the call is dropped.

Doing a debug isdn q931 shows :

000574: Jun 24 11:58:32.521 PCTime: ISDN BR0/2/0 Q931: Applying typeplan for sw-type 0x1 is 0x0 0x0, Calling num 022365xxxx

When I compare this with an inbound call

The only difference I can see is the bearer cap, for inbound it is 0x8090A3 which means Voice/Speech call (A-law) and for outbound it is 0x8090A2 which means Voice/Speech call (u-law))

How and where can I specify I want to use G711 Alaw for outbound calls?

Thanks,

Jeroen

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. This solved my problem!

Rgds,

Jeroen

Thanks for the appreciation and good luck!

Paolo,

Could you please tell me the exact function of this command & how it helped resolve this issue?

Regards,

Ashok.

North America uses a PCM companding algorithm called U law tat is the default. Rest of the world uses A law and must be configured accordingly.

Thanks a lot Paolo, have a nice day.
