Hi,
Is it advisable to use the BGP times 5/15 for neighbor peering in production environment..? If not what is the recomended settings..?
ex: neighbor 27.150.9.58 timers 5 15
Please suggest

What are the timers for the underlying IGP?
You should leave some room for IGP convergence, then adjust the timers on BGP.
I've seen values in the 5/15 range but that's quite aggressive. Usually, 10/30 is the norm after modifying OSPF to 5/15 for instance.

Hi Edison,
Thank you for the quick reply. Router is peering with ISP and sitting out side of ASA. But looks like ISP using OSPF as IGP with no changes to OSPF timers (my end router has plain OSPF config). So 10/30 is norm, then I will go with that.

If you go with 10/30, make sure to change the OSPF timers to 5/15 on every OSPF device on that segment.
