Two networks are connected using fiber optics cable with fastethernet media converters at both ends. We are seeing input and CRC errors on the Cisco switches connected to this converter. Whenever we ping across this link we get packet loss between 3-5%. Can it be the error arising from the fiber that is causing the packet loss?

Sounds like a duplex mismatch to me. Check your converters, they usually have DIP switches to set the speed and duplex.
Hope that helps.

This particular converter has no DIP setting, in addition there is no log of duplex mismatch in the switches couple with the show interface shows duplex full, but the packet loss problem still persist.
