Partition Limit

Hi

The Partition have a limit of 512 characters.

So, we have that change the name of Partitions to shor names.

What are the steps to change of name of partitions, css, regions ....

We change and restart the CCM services or just reset the ip phones?

when you change the partition name it will change under the CSS, since it's a dependency on the DB you only change the partition name but the key that is used remains the same.

basic steps would be to look for the element and change the name, nothing special

When you change the partition name it is required to reset all associated devices. While doing this recently I also had it mess up some of the the TFTP loads, and I had to make a fake change through BAT to get CCM to update them fully. Very wild. I changed the internal partitions name on 3000 devices though, a bit extreme. Just be careful and test test test!!!
