bitErrRTThresExeeded on IBM blade MDS module

When merging a Cisco MDS 20 port switch module to a MDS 9140 fabric switch I keep failing with bitErrRTThresExeeded.

I have trunked both ports, created the vsans on the new switch module. When the ports are activated the TE lights green for about a minute then goes red. The documentation has been NO help.. Can soem one please provide a fix/solution.

What ports on the 9140 are you using?

How many ISL's do you have between the 9140 and the IBM blade MDS module?

Do you have the speed set to AUTO?

Please check each ports Physical Attributes (can be done through the GUI or CLI) and make sure the SFP's are the same.

I have seen this twice before - Once due to bad cables and once to a shotty SFP.

Thanks for the replys, the issue came down to a SFP miss match in the 9140. A 4Gb SFP was installed in position fc1/3.
