All,
I have a 3750 stack (3 devices), and the Master needs to be replaced. I have upgraded the IOS, so that it is running the same as is currently in the stack.
Two questions - If I replace the Master, will it pull the configuration from on of the other two devices, or do I need to set one of the other two devices as the Master, and then replace the device, and set the replaced device back to master.
I have (2) WS-C3750G-12S and (1) WS-C350G-24P. I know that in a normal election a device that has PoE will become master against other devices that do not have PoE.
Thanks,

If the master switch fails, the next switch in the stack will automatically take over as master. Since each individual switch in the stack contains the full configuration, replacing any downed switch from the stack is often quick and painless.

The other devices have the full configuration so nothing should have to be changed. Unless you repower the whole stack another switch will become stackmaster when you pull the original out . Even if you have the priorities set unless there is another event to force a stackmaster election the original will not be stackmaster .
