How to trace outdial from CUC 2.1 to a users extension?

Have a user in a CUCMBE deployment with CUC 2.1 that has periodically been getting calls showing from various VM ports, if he attempts to answer, call is immediately dropped. Looking for ideas as to how to track this down on the CUC side. His xfer option is ring extension, but is seems odd that he'd be getting folks xferring to him and then just hanging up right away. There is never a party on the line. No indication that it is message notification, as CUC never plays audio to him. Ideas?
