I have an old 3500 XL switch I want to install on my network temporarily for some users. The IOS support only ibm and ieee spanning tree. I configured the interfaces into a vlan and enable portfast on them and changed my spanning-tree priority for the vlan to 65535 (so it doesn't attempt to become the root). On the network, the other access switches (3750's) are running PVST. Is there anything I still need to change to be on the safe side. Oh! i also deleted the vlan database and made it a transperate switch with the defualt domain and I made sure all the ports are access ports.
