ATA different ringing tone for internal calls

We have a need to change the ringing tone of an ATA depending whether the call is from an external phone (DID) or an internal extension. It is connected to a night bell and they want to identify the call as internal or external.

We are using Call Manager 4.2.3

Hi,


The ATA provides only the ringing voltage/interval for the analog phone/device.


A workaround could be, get a second night bell connected on the second ATA interface.


The external, incoming DID must be translated to a second, different internal number (second interface on the ATA).


ATA interface 1 => night bell 1 (internal)

ATA interface 2 => night bell 2 (external)


Only an idea ;-)
