Hi,
Our CU is using CCM 4.1(3) with Cisco 7940 IP phones. We would like to know whether it is possible to implement G729 codec for IP phones without configuring regions in the CCM.

CCM in this way is tha CAC for all call. YOu can also look for MTP and transcoding

There is always a default region defined in CM, simply change it to use G729 within itself and that will do it.
