Dynamic Routing over PIX VPN

Hello

I am trying configure dynamic routing over 2 links, one Site to Site VPN from a PIX to Cisco Router and one IPLC router to router. At the moment, if the IPLC goes down. I'll make a single line change to the core switch (Cisco 3750) to use the VPN. I would like to make use of routing protocol to automate this.

It would seem like there are 3 pieces of equipment that needs to be configured. The Switch, Router and PIX. And it would seem the lowest common denominator is RIP unless the router is upgraded to IP Services image. Then it might be OSPF.

My question is:

1. Is RIP possible?

2. Else, if OSPF possible?

I have attached a partial Visio file.

Thank you for reading.

What PIX version are you running On?

If PIX version is 6.x, 7.x it suports specisif RIP and OSPF routing protocols.

If you have PIX version 8.x, It suports EIGRP routing protocols.

Now you decide, whic is best for you, upgrade or existing one?

Thanks,

PIX 6.3(5)

Perhaps the other question is, does RIP or OSPF works over VPN?

In typical DMVPN environments, EIGRP works well over IPSEC+GRE.HTH
