LMS 3.0 CM 5.0 User tracking includes all switch ports (fa0/0 etc)

Hi,

We have LMS 3.0 Campus Manager 5.0 (Windiws). In user tracking i see about 6000 entries. It includes all the End points (User computers etc) in addition to ALL the ports of all the switches. Is this normal? In LMS 2.6 user tracking used to show only the end poins only and switch ports were not included.

Any comments?

This is not normal unless you have a switch bug (or maybe a misconfiguration). MAC addresses of the switch itself should have a learn status of self, or not show up at all. Either way, UT should ignore them. Please post an snmpwalk of the dot1dTpFdbTable for one such switch and VLAN which is exhibiting this problem. What MAC address is part of the switch? Also, post the show ver and show run from this switch. If this information is too sensitive to post in an open forum, open a TAC service request with these details.
