1131 Access Point

Hello,

I have an 1131AP configured on a network and the problem that I have is when WEP encryption is added, none of my clients can obtain an IP address from the DHCP server. As long as security is not enabled, all clients can connect and obtain an IP address. I am positive that the WEP key matches on both client and AP. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

What key size are you using on your client devices and on the ap? Also, in the clients and ap, are you placing the key in key 1?

I am using 128bit key size. On the ap, the key is placed in key 2. Will that cause this problem? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you need to place it in key 1. Most likely you have set the wep key on the client on key 1 so both sides have to match.

Thanks fella5,

That resolved the problem. It's amazing how something so small can affect the overall big picture. Thanks again.
