Intervlan Routing

Unanswered Question
Jun 30th, 2008

I am doing routing on a stick. I have three subinterfaces defined in my router config. Sub1 = 10.10.1.0, Sub2 = 10.10.2.0, Sub3 = 10.10.3.0, and I am trunking between the router and the switch using dot1Q. My question is do I need to have a routing protocol to do intervlan routing or are these sub interfaces considered directly connected networks and therefore the routing protocol is not required? Thanks...AC

I have this problem too.

Hi,

Michael said it right no need of routing protocols.

You too have said it right the interface ip address range will be directly connected.

Hope this helps,
