I am doing routing on a stick. I have three subinterfaces defined in my router config. Sub1 = 10.10.1.0, Sub2 = 10.10.2.0, Sub3 = 10.10.3.0, and I am trunking between the router and the switch using dot1Q. My question is do I need to have a routing protocol to do intervlan routing or are these sub interfaces considered directly connected networks and therefore the routing protocol is not required?
