VSS Issue - Line Card not showing

VSS Issue

Cisco Catalyst 6509 Chassis.

We have moved a line card from slot 8 to slot 6, but config remains for the line card in slot 8 and nothing is seen in slot 6.

We are running on IOS Verison 12.2 (33SXH2A) i.e. VSS

Blade model number is WS-X6748

Can anyone advise?

Not an answer to your question but we are looking into implementing VSS. Was wondering what success you have had and what issues you may have had as well. Please contact me dhobbs6@csc.com

Hi Pattrick,

When you had the WS-X6748 in slot 8, you configured the ports like this: "int gigabitethernet1/8/1" and so on...

When you move that card into slot 6, the configuration is not changed automatically. You have to manually copy & pase the configuration (changing 1/8/1 to 1/6/1 and so on).
