I am just connecting two 1841 routers with a switch having two loopback connectivity check but getting problem in connectivity.

loopback address for routers are 172.16.1.1 and 172.16.2.1 and rip is enabled in both router.

See the attachement for sh ip route and sh ip int brief. Thanks

You are not exchanging routes between the routers. Do you have

router rip

network 10.0.0.0

network 172.16.0.0

If so please post configs. Also you haven't included "sh ip int br" in your attachements.

Jon

pls find the attached

On both routers please add

router rip

network 10.0.0.0

If you don't have this then RIP will not start on the fast ethernet interfaces and hence routes will not be exchanged between the 2 routers.

Jon

Thanks Jon. Its my mistake for not adding this network.

Hi,

Jon is right you need to add the 10.x.x.x network. Loopback interface is a virtual interface.

Pravin
