I have unity 4.0.5 running and unified messaging with Exchange 2003. I have two subscribers who receive the wave attachments in exchange but the mwi does not activate to alert them that a new message has arrived. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what might casue this issue?

Is this a new problem and it was working before?

Couple things to check:

- if the subscriber has a rule in place to move a voicemail to a sub folder, the MWI will not light. Unity will only monitor the "inbox" of the subscribers mailbox for on/off

- if the subscriber has 3million items in their inbox, this could be a problem for the indexing to happen. Too many mail items in the "inbox" can cause issues with MWI. If you are over 2000 items, it would be wise to move those items to a subfolder, try vmail again and see what kind of results you get.

- check the subscribers profile in Unity SA. Is the notifications setup for "X" or it pointed to another number?

- At the IP phone, can you dial the MWI "on" extension number to manually turn the light on the phone? Likewise for "off" It is possible the MWI on/off extensions are not accessible for that calling search space.

Hope this helps

are they getting the notification in the inbox? or do they have a rule to move it to another folder?

maybe a permission issue

Javalenc,

Thanks for responding. They are receiving the messages in their inbox so I do not think it is a permissions issue. Icould be wrong though.

Hi, tcatlinins,

Your last suggestion solved our problem. It turns out that the voicemail partition was not included in the calling search space. Once this was added and tested everything began functioning correctly. Thank you for your suggestions!

Glad I could help you!
