Maximum CTI-controlled devices per node

We are using Call Manager 4.2(3). In the System Guide in the chapter CTI is written;

The maximum number of CTI-controlled devices per node varies by server class as follows:

MCS-7845 servers support up to 2500 CTI-controlled devices per node.

Questions:

What ist the exact Meaning of 'per node'? Does 'per node' means the call manager cluster, just one call manager server in the cluster, something else?

What possibilities we have, if we reach the limitation of 2500 CTI controlled devices? Using the CTI Super Provider?

Thanks in advance.

per node = per server

SRND provides this info, this for 5.x:

The following guidelines apply to Cisco Unified CM Release 5.0:

•You can configure a maximum of 800 CTI connections or associations per standard server, or a maximum of 3200 per cluster if they are equally balanced among the servers.

•You can configure a maximum of 2500 CTI connections or associations per high-performance server, or a maximum 10,000 per cluster if they are equally balanced among the servers.

if it's not your version look into the appropriate SRND

Hi - My take on this is that "node" refers to each CUCM running CTI Manager in the cluster:

From CUCM 4.system guide:

Maximum Devices Per Node-This parameter specifies the maximum number of devices that all CTI applications can open on any CTIManager node in the Cisco Unified CallManager system. The default specifies 800 devices

I would also bear in mind busy hour call attempts (BHCA)and server device weights in defining CTI resources:

MCS 7845 will take a Max device weight of 10000

CTI Ports / RPs with BHCA of < 24 will each have a weight of 8

In this case the max CTI Ports / RPs that should be defined on this server is 1250.

Thanks
