Flexlink: Fast failover over point-to-point connections

Unanswered Question

We are using a third party switches which support RFC 3619 as EAPS (Ethernet Auto Protection Switching) but there is a draw back in this standard that when a device became isolate completely then both optical fiber nodes East/West or Primary/Secondary need to connect with the Switch ports. To healup 1st node (East) does not bring the Switch in the network unless we connect the 2nd Node (West) in a ring.

We are now planning to use Cisco ME switches like ME 2400/3400/6500 etc for the existing Metro Ethernet application. Kindly let us know what are the additive features of Flex Link protocol used by Cisco ME switches. What the Flex Link standard has same drawback like RFC 3619. For any further clarification about RFC 3619, you may download this standard from the web.

I have this problem too.
