Unity connection Voice mail retrieval failure

Ive configured voice mail using Unity 2.1 connection demo license integrated with CUM 6.1 Business edition. Message recording works fine and MWI is on. However when I try to retrieve the recorded messages, the system propmpts for password, then ID and thereafter instead of reading the recorded message , the system prompts for an extension ie "if you would like to try an extension you may do so now' and then just terminates the call with 'goodbye" .

Please help.
