Logging timestamps require an authoritative time on the router.

Have you configure the following in addition to setting the time?

service timestamps debug datetime msec localtime show-timezone

service timestamps log datetime msec localtime show-timezone

clock timezone IST 5 30

Narayan

Its is not in IST, I am now in Philippines.

Hi,

If you dont know the time zone detail, configure the exact time with "clock set ..." command in previlage mode..

This will enable log & debug time to be captured at current time..

Regards,

All the discussion about time zones and about how to set the clock are interesting and good but not essential to solving the question that Goutam wants answered about how to get the log messages to show clock time instead of uptime. Narayan was exactly right in suggesting that service timestamps log datetime is the essential command to get the log messages to show clock time. He deserves the rating that he got for it.
