I know it's very bad practice but I have come across two 3750s at our organisation that are connected together via a trunk port that have been assigned the same hostname e.g. Switch1>

neither have an IP Address assigned on the device however cdp shows Swich1 is connected to Switch1 across the trunk. Other than confusing the administrator could this cause any data loss or issues?
