Hi
I am confused in regrading Eigrp load balance. please clear me my confusion.
I have Ho router which connect another BR. from Ho to Br has 3 link. example
E=HO and A=BR
· E-B-A with a metric of 30
· E-C-A with a metric of 20
· E-D-A with a metric of 45
Now my question is>
1. If I run Eigrp then by default equal load balance and with 3 link data is transfer same time to go destination Br? or only data transfer E-C-A ?.
2. If I use variance 2 then EIGRP provide unqual load blance link path
E-B-A and E-C-A.
so my confusion is at first normal eigrp run then 3 link use for data transfer to go destination A and when I want only two link use for data transfer to go destination A same time then I use Variance ?
thanks

you can use one link, two links, three liks...
It depends only on your wish.

use command "variance 2" under EIGRP configuration.

by default eigrp do load balancing between paths with equal cost.

Hi
accoring to answer by default eigrp use three path E-C-A, E-B-A, E-D-A ? same time.
to go reach destination from E to A.
Thanks

Hi
difference between equal and unequal loadbalance ?
1. if metric is same among the three path then it is called equal load balance ?
2. if metric is not same among the three path then it is called un equal load balance ?
Thanks

try variance 3
