System Status: Paused on services: antivirus ???

Hi,
for a time period of an hour or so our ironport C100 (AsyncOS 6.1.0-306) displays as system status "Paused on services: antivirus" and now there are a lot of mails in the workqueue.
Also the GUI reacts very slowly, meaning that bulding of the "overview" page takes 3-4 minutes, while getting the system status via CLI is not much faster (1-2 min). CPU and RAM utilization is low.

A testmail was delivered approx. 1 hour after I sent it.

Anyone an idea?

Hi,

The status value you notice is displayed during the installation (or activation) of new AV patterns.
We use Sophos and VOF on our (rather busy) systems and notice only short status changes.
Maybe there is something not configured optimal that is causing delays in downloading the net AV patterns. (For instance an Ethernet Duplex problem).
Possibly your logs can show you what is happening.

Ive had the exact same thing on an old C10 which was down to a bad update. The appliance should recover itself eventually but check out your logs for updates should point you in the right direction.
