In CUCMBE is there a way to have global speed dials. In other words can you have 1 speedial list that everyones uses, say starting with a * followed by the number in the list.

I know you can have these in CMExpress,

Hi,

Yep... you can do this...

You need to configure translation patterns..

i.e. *001

Ensure you set the CSS of the pattern to something that can find an external route pattern that routes the number you are calling.

Called Party Transformation = number you want to dial

Prefix = put your 0 or 9 for outside line here.

I usually configure a special partition for speed dials, usually per site.

You said CUCM BE so no sure if you have multiple sites.

But unfortunately you have to set translation patterns for each site.. the CSS will dictate which route pattern is matched, and hence which gateway the calls exit.

Good news.. in 6.1 you can export translation patterns with BAT, modify them or add more, and then import them back in. This is the quickest way to get the speed dials configured.

Cheers,

Tim

You could also write an nice IP Phone service / custom directory...

Or use Web Dialer, and create a nice web service for use from the PC...

Cheers,

Tim.
