Service compress-config

Hi guys,

on the cisco 4948 switch, I always get an error message says 'Compress config cannot be disabled' when I try to disable 'service compress-config'. Dose anybody know the reason? Thanks in advance!

hi!

For the Cat4000/4500, the service compress configuration command is a fixed configuration, in the sense that we can not turn that service off.

It shouldnt cause any problems though. Any specific reason you are trying to turn it off?
