Hello,

Can any one explain the folowing situation:

I have a router 2821 instaled on the network, when i issue a show arp on the router i see the folowing information:

Protocol Address Age (min) Hardware Addr Type Interface

Internet 10.211.137.24 14 0004.75e9.c633 ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

Internet 10.211.137.30 4 0011.0ae9.766d ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

Internet 10.211.137.1 - 4000.3745.0001 ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

Internet 10.211.137.3 230 001c.b015.d5c1 ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

Internet 10.211.137.8 0 00c0.ee58.d0aa ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

Internet 10.211.137.14 0 000a.5e1d.6a34 ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

Internet 10.211.137.41 5 0011.85e5.0673 ARPA GigabitEthernet0/0.10

How does the router decrease the agint time for a particular entry, for exemple if i try to ping ip 10.211.137.24

is suposed the aging time to reset to 0 ?

Thanks

It doesn't reset by Ping, if you issue clear arp-chach thn it is reset.

Router doesn't send ARP broadcast everytime on the network.

Thanks,
