Is this possible ?
Has anyone successfully run the CSA-MC
on a windows 2003 virtual server instance ?
Any pointers, or direction is appreciated

I've installed it on VMware ESX and GSX (Now the free VMware Server product) with no problems but I haven't used MS Virtual Server.
Best thing to do is give it a try... it should be possible.

Hi,
If you have the money, buy the VMware ESX Server 3.5. It works great. I have a wonderful csa-mc pre-production environment, I use it for testing policies and virus's
They do have some free versions that work pretty good. But Vmware runs the show.

GSX and MS Virtual Server are both free and work OK, but I'd love to buy ESX or latest flavor of VMware.
Be that as it may, I am running the CSA MC on a vm in MS Virtual Server. It is working OK, except that some process keeps tripping the untrusted root kit condition, and its an "unknown" process. I have a suspicion it is the add-on service for Virtual Machine Additions Service, which is not necessarily required for operation.
