Configuring WAAE 7341

I have a few questions on configuration of Wide Area Application Engine (WAAE)7341 for Caching internet traffic.

We are thinking of software ACNS 5.5.9 (I think this is the only version supported on this box)

1. Does it handle/forward HTTPS traffic along with HTTP?

2. When it forwards packet does it alter the source IP address (replacing client IP with its own IP address)? We do not want this options as we are doing filtering on Websense Policy Server based on client IP address.

3. What are the other options for caching Internet web traffic in an large enterprise environment.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

1. It is possible to configure ACNS to cache HTTPS traffic. See the following:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/acns/v55/configuration/central/guide/9136cach.html#wp1042355

2. By default, ACNS will use it's own IP address as the source IP address for requests sent to origin servers. It is possible to preserve the client IP address for upstream request. See the following:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/acns/v55/configuration/local/guide/adtsprt.html#wp1112654

3. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, you may also want to consider Wide Area Application Services (WAAS).
