Telnet Sessions

Hey,

I have a router that is at 100% CPU usage..

it is going crazy...

obviously I can't telnet inside or do anything.. have to get a tech to go out and reboot the machine..

My question is.. is there any tricks of the trade to get inside..

I tried the "telnet (ip of pingable interface) /source-loopback" command

didn't work.. obviously because the remote interface was not pingable.. but I tried anyways..

is there a way to telnet through the MAC address because it recognizes it at level2..

stupid question..

Let me know

Your best bet at this point, besides reloading, is to get in through the console.

I realize that this may not be possible if you don't have physical access to the router. However, something you might consider for the future is to setup a comm server or other device (e.g. a modem, UNIX box, etc.) which can give you remote access through the console port.
