No it does not and in fact, it cannot (that's the way the standard is). If two different interfaces belonged to different regions, this could open the door to bridging loops in the network. Well, in fact, it would be possible if we could split the bridge in two independent logical bridges, each running independent MSTs. This is not possible at that time.
