I have the CD media for UCM 6.1 I purchased off of Ebay. I need to know exactly what kind of HP server I need to load to run UCMBE 6.1 I have tried the DVD in a DL380G5 3.00ghz Xeon and 4GB of RAM but it says the system type is incorrect. Cisco website is so damn confusing on this subject I thought I would ask the experts.

Thanks

William

Hi friend,

CUCMBE software suite is supported on Cisco MCS 7828. Take a look to this URL for information about Cisco MCS 7828:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/voiceapp/ps378/products_data_sheets_list.html

Hope this helps a little bit.

The software is very hardware specific. You have to have the right CPU, MEMORY, RAID CONTROLLER, BIOS VERSION, DRIVE SIZE, and evern the specific RAID batery backup that is specified in the link I just sent.

I basically need a DL380G5 with those exact specs and it will work? Why then does a customer have what appears to be a DL320 running UCMBE 6.1? Why is this server not listed?

I am NOT an expert in voice by any means but I

would suggest the following:

1- Create an ISO image from the 6.1 CD,

2- Install Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition

on your HP machine,

3- Install VMWare workstation either version

5.x or 6.x on your HP machine,

4- Create a VMWare guest OS on your HP system.

Choose Redhat Linux,

5- Mount the ISO CD you created in step 1,

6- Install your first Call Manager. The installation is very straight forward. I will

call it ccm-pub,

7- Create a second VMWare guest OS on your HP

system. Choose Redhat Linux,

8- Mount the ISO image,

9- Install your second Call Manager and call

it ccm-sub,

I have not tried step 7 through 9 yet but I

would imagine building a 2nd CCM box is not

that difficult.

If you use VMWare, you can have both a CCM

publisher and subscriber on the same physcal

system, thus cutting down the cost of having

two physical servers.

my 2c

ya i really dont want to use vmware and i would like to run Business Edition.
