A layer 3 switch
----------------------
1* 2* 3* 4* 5* 6* 7*
----------------------
port 1 is directly connectted to laptop
port 2 is directly connected to a server
port 1 is enabled with 'no switchport' and has IP 10.1.1.1
Laptop has IP 10.1.1.2 with default GW 10.1.1.1
port 2 is enabled with 'no switchport' and has IP 14.130.13.108
server has IP 14.130.13.109
I want to ping the server (14.130.13.109) from laptop (10.1.1.1).Is is possible that a layer 3 switch can do such function by enabling routing or so ?

Hi,
Yes this can be done,
Just make sure you enable ip routing on the switch and you set the gateway for pc to 10.1.1.1 and for server to 14.130.13.109.
